Contracted through Kroescontrol I support the Kubernetes / OpenShift team of the department of data analytics at the Belastingdienst. Within this team I am responsible for the further development and the automation of the OpenShift platform and various tools surrounding this platform:
- Automated deployments and configurations of OpenShift using Ansible, Kustomize and ArgoCD
- Implemented log and metric aggregation and cluster observability
- Automated Tekton pipelines and Airflow runs
- Supported developer teams to migrate their workloads to OpenShift
Contracted through Kroescontrol I support the Linux platform team of TenneT. Within this team I am responsible for the core Linux OS configuration and various tools surrounding the automation of said configuration:
- Automated deployments and configurations using Ansible
- Automated CI/CD using Jenkins
- Automated platforms (Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite) using Ansible
- Supported teams with Linux-related issues and questions
- Troubleshot and solved Linux-related problems
- Maintained existing Linux installations

As a Linux automation engineer within the DevOps team my responsibilities and tasks were diverse. During this time in my career I took every possibility to explore various areas in the technical field of shared and managed hosting by participating in multiple projects. Among those areas and projects most notable were:
Automation:
- Developed a migration tool in Python to migrate hosting configuration and data
- Developed and managed numerous Puppet modules
- Automated and improved the continuous integration / development cycle using GitLab
- Created numerous Python scripts and small applications
Infrastructure:
- Researched and deployed a new monitoring and alerting solution
- Designed and built a new cross datacenter VMware cluster
- Modernized the email setup with DKIM, DMARC and various other modern improvements
Operational:
- Defined a coding standard and style guides for the code bases
- Wrote new and improved existing internal documentation
- Guided colleagues with technical issues
